Joyce DiMascio, head of Business Events Australia, and Robyn Hendry, Canberra Convention Bureau Chief Executive, will co-chair the initiative. Heading the new project is Julie Sheather, who has over 20 years’ experience in communications and stakeholder relations, working with associations in the finance, health, industrial and agricultural sectors.
New initiative to increase international association conventions in Australia
Third Sector — July 2010
Tourism Australia, the Australian Association of Convention Bureaux and other major convention centres are undertaking a joint initiative to increase the number and size of international association conventions across Australia. The Australia Associations Project is a $1.8 million, three year program.
